So I watched the first 2 hours or so of the NASCAR yesterday. I might as well have been watching a Formula 1 race. The cars pretty much ran where they started. There was a bit of passing but not a lot. There was a bit of drama but not a lot since it was Danica causing wrecks and bringing out yellows. I didn't see the end of the race but I came home and pretty much the cars that started up front finished up front. I wonder if there has ever been a NASCAR that much like F1 ever.

Yep. Totally Danica's fault when a rookie spins in front of her.

Also, Austin Dillon is the greatest thing ever because he kept himself clear of all the cars wrecking around him at Daytona and totally didn't block the high line for the leaders when getting lapped this weekend like all the other rookies. Stayed right down in the race line and let them pass on the right like they're supposed to.

They never showed a good replay of the first wreck. To me it looked like Danica spun the rookie. That said I was more thinking about the flat tire yellow. Also Austin Dillon has been a mess lol.

Yes, but if you didn't catch it the commentators at one point praised him for driving intelligently when he was driving right in the line making the leaders work to lap him, and right afterwards said something about Kligerman being in the way when he was staying high all the way around with an ailing engine. In between these 2 incidents they were saying how everyone was told to stay high so they could pass on the bottom. Fun with commentary.

Other than that, the 10 crashing, and the blown engine on the 41 I enjoyed the race. Any win is good win. Dominant wins are even better.

Cmon man Harvick was clinical yesterday. There might not have been a lot of drama but that's hard when one driver just bends l rest over and absolutely dominates a race.

And I'd much rather watch a driver put on a driving clinic than a bunch of wrecks anyways. If you're looking for a wreck every lap and a bunch of cautions just wait till Vegas.

complaining about nascar being boring is kinda like complaining that chicken tastes like chicken. even with all the points and having a lady driver, it's not steak.

Thing is it wasn't just Harvick. The two penske cars and the 3 Hendrick cars were more or less the class of the rest and left the rest of the field behind them as well. I've never seen the front of a Cup race have such little movement.

For some reason Phoenix is the most boring track in the Sprint Cup series, even with all the cookie cutters. Last year I fell asleep about 100 laps in. I had a nice long refreshing nap, woke up, and realized that the race wasn't even half over yet. I was hungry and for some reason was craving Subway. I got in my car, drove to a Subway, slowly ate my footlong Italian BMT, took a nice long drive to watch the sun set over the river, and drove home only to find that there were still about 100 laps left to go. Apparently, the only way to make races at Phoenix interesting is to have the drivers purposely wreck into each other and get in a fist fight in pit lane.
